The first Fischer barometers were produced in 1946 in Drebach, in the Ore Mountains region, followed by further meteorological instruments - all of solid construction and finish. In the 1950s, barographs and altitude recorders for aviation were also developed and manufactured. In 1965, the 6-part aneroid barometer was patented – the foundation of Fischer's outstanding reputation for hygrometers and measuring instruments, that endures to this day.
