Cardboard kit for one of the most ingenious and sophisticated sundials ever invented: the Regiomontanus sundial measures true local time based on the sun's altitude, unlike conventional altitude sundials, at all geographical latitudes between Oslo and Cairo.
It was invented in the 15th century by Johannes Regiomontanus, the famous astronomer and mathematician from Königsberg in Lower Franconia.
It also allows you to determine the sunrise and sunset times for any date and location, and the plumb quadrant on the back makes it easy to determine the sun's altitude (angle above the horizon).
Complete with stand and brass plumb bob. Sturdy cardboard, elegant gold print.
