OKLOP Canvas Photos collects artwork of European amateur astrophotographers. The photographs rich in detail and color show the wonders of the universe not only digitally but also on canvas prints. Each image is manually inspected, printed on a high resolution photo printer and carefully placed on a pinewood frame with sawtooth hanger. The printed image thus continues on the sides of the frame, so that it stands out from its glide when placed on the wall.
The photograph shows the North Star, which is positioned in the centre of the image. As the night progresses, the stars rotate around it, creating these beautiful streaks when the camera shutter is open. This apparent movement of the stars is a result of the Earth's daily rotation.
"But I am constant as the Northern Star,
Of whose true fixed and resting quality
There is no fellow in the firmament."
William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
